Tropical Vibes

I find it hard to unwind.
I don’t create these chill scenes only for you, but also for me. It’s a way to dive into a Paradise for some seconds.
Somewhere without responsibilities, traffic, emails, grocery shopping, house cleaning, zoom calls, deadlines, stock fluctuations, and notifications.

Technique: digital painting
Software: Procreate and Adobe Photoshop
Animation: Catarina Silva

I’m a very obsessive and perfectionist person, so I don’t rest while I don’t reach the point when I’m totally happy with what I’m creating.
I guess when you do what you love, you work double, sometimes without noticing it, and want everything to be as perfect as it can be, right?
I struggle with this. I can’t let go of it and it’s a bit stressful at times.
I’m slowly learning out to shut down after “work”.
The problem is that I don’t really consider it work, so it makes it even harder. I don’t know where the barrier between it and my “life” and my work starts and ends. Maybe if I could draw that line I would be a more healthy person. Who knows! It’s a tricky thing to be an artist!
But, you guessed it, I couldn’t see myself being any good doing anything else. Even to write this text I’m struggling to make it perceptible, and not too long, and not too confusing, and not too boring.
Although I like writing to myself, I was never good at it, because I have so many things I want to say that I end up getting a lil bit paralyzed.
